The final chapter to my story experiencing cosmetic surgery, I had just come out of surgery, the porter was wheeling me back to my room where my husband was waiting for me, we entered the room the look on my husbands face was of shock and sadness, I was feeling very nervous and scared at his reaction what have I done I thought I must look bad. My head and neck were completely bandaged my eyes felt like slits as there we very swollen. Laying on my bed was difficult as the drip in my arm and the bandages, cold packs on my eyes, this was the only position I could get into, after a reasonable night, I would like to add the nurses were very good my husband was brilliant. The surgeon arrived to see how I was and remove the bandages, I did not realise that the bandage was keeping down the swelling, as the bandage came of my face just swelled up so badly that I thought my face was going to fall apart and the stitches would not hold, at this point I was petrified we had over an hours journey back home, the surgeon tried to reassure me that it was normal no problem he kept saying go home and rest keep ice packs on as much as possible till the next appointment which was in three days time to have the stitches removed from the eyes all other stitches come out in time. I did as I was told my husband saw to that bless him, he made up frozen peas in a plastic bag bound them together at the bottom so the bags fitted around my face and neck comfortably, he tied them around with a dressing gown belt, with peas in place I could walk about keeping my face lovely and cold all the time. We returned to the clinic 3 days later the surgeon removed the stitches I was then given a mirror to look at myself, I was shocked I started to worry I was not happy at what I saw, but as the days went by the swelling went down I was looking amazing, I had no wrinkles, no jowls I looked at least ten years younger, it has been 2 months since the operation, I look great I have had so many complements, my friend thought it was so good in these two months she has not only had the eye lift and S- lift she had her nose re shaped and lipo on her tummy and love handles, we both feel so much better, the surgery has given us a lot more confidence, we are able to wear younger looking clothes, we look younger and boy do we feel younger if any one out there has the money and you find a good surgeon then go for it.
